Colour Popping

Colour Popping

Colour popping is a good technique for changing the focal point of an image. It can be used to draw focus to an individual aspect within the image. In the image above I decided to colour pop the boat and water around the refection. I did this to create the illusion of movement within my image. I was trying to create the sensation of time stopping, so that the building within the image would be forever frozen in time. The ferry represents the unstoppable flow of time, as it passes by this one moment never to go back. One day the buildings we see now as modern will be considered old as we continue to change and develop over time. The colour red adds to the illusion of speed created within the image, adding to the unstoppable force 'Time'.
