Overlaying Textures

The image above was created using Photoshop, too overlay a textured image over the top of another. In this image I decided too combine a new set of flats and an old cobble stone road. The two overlapping images contrast well with each other and give the impression of times relentlessly moving forward. Most of the old cobble stone roads have long since been covered creating a smooth finish. Because, the majority of modern building have a smooth finish to them, so using the rough and uneven cobble stone road would help to create more depth and structure to the image.
