Juxtaposition in Architecture

Juxtaposition

Leeds canal is one of the best places to go if you are looking to create juxtaposition (when to different things are placed new to one another) . Having a nice collection of old and new building come together alone the canal shows how architecture has evolved over time. I like the image above because the canal acts as a divider to the two separate eras of building construction. The direction in which the eye follows the canal is leading towards the modern, giving the illusion of time flowing into a new era from the old.
